Tools for publishing preparation
Create tracked URLs and calculate text length, image dimensions and estimated video size. These MSL tools work without registration.
Inputs and calculations are processed in your browser. Only QR generation sends the URL to an external service. Do not enter private or sign-in URLs.
01 / UTM URL builder
Create a URL that distinguishes traffic sources. This tool does not shorten URLs.
Usage and limitations
Source, medium and campaign are required. Existing UTM values are replaced; other query parameters and the fragment are preserved. UTM parameters alone do not collect analytics. The destination needs analytics configured. Test printed QR codes on a phone before distribution.
02 / Text length
Check text length. This does not validate a social network’s posting limit.
Counting method
The visible character count uses grapheme clusters, including joined emoji. UTF-16 units and UTF-8 bytes are also shown. Spaces and line breaks count. URL count estimates strings starting with http:// or https://. Platforms treat URLs and emoji differently; check the actual post editor.
03 / Image dimensions
Calculate width and height from an aspect ratio. This does not crop or convert image files.
Dimensions are rounded to the nearest integer. Check current official requirements separately for the platform you use.
04 / Estimate video file size
Plan file size before export. This does not predict image quality or platform recompression.
Formula: seconds × (video Mbps + audio kbps ÷ 1,000) ÷ 8. One MB is 1,000,000 bytes. Variable bitrate and container overhead affect the actual size.
MSL worked examples
| Tool | Example input | Expected output |
|---|---|---|
| UTM URL | https://example.com/?a=1#section / instagram / social / autumn | Preserve a=1 and #section; add three UTM parameters |
| Text length | MSL テスト | 7 characters / 13 UTF-8 bytes / 1 line |
| Image dimensions | 9:16, width 1080px | 1080 × 1920 px |
| Video size | 30 seconds, 10 Mbps, 256 kbps | Approximately 38.46 MB (36.68 MiB) |
On October 14, 2026, we checked these inputs and visible outputs in a signed-out browser, and checked a 390px viewport for horizontal overflow. QR image loading was checked; physical phone scanning and social-media posting were not tested.
